The functions of the Excise Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh are:-

1)  Collection of excise revenue from various privileges granted through license for production, storage, distribution and sale of liquor, registration of liquor brands and labels.

2)  Conducting raids against crimes related with liquor and narcotic items as per the Arunachal Pradesh Excise Act, 1993 and the NDPS Act, 1985 and the relevant rules made therein.

3)    Periodical inspections of licensed liquor premises.
